Glamping has really swepted across the nation with gusto and there are sites popping up in every county across the UK. Boswarthen farm is one of Cornwall's finest glamping locations and for those who haven't yet experienced this fabulous craze, there is no better way than here at Boswarthen farm. This site was highly recommended to me by another similar business in Worcestershire and I have to say that what I discovered was everything I was told it would be and more. Maddy and Adrian's attitude to their business really impressed me, and such is why I felt they would be the ones we would chose for this special feature on glamping in our Cornwall chapter. The sites amenities are of a very high standard and with eleven glamping tents spread across two closely linked locations, the views all the way over to St Michaels Mount are truly spectacular.
Call us ‘show offs' if you like - we don't mind- we love having guests here on our farm and visiting Cornwall. Why wouldn't we want to show it off?
We have been part of the Feather Down fold since 2007 (one of the first) and we never grow tired of welcoming guests to Boswarthen. We are passionate about our farm and we appreciate that we live and work in such an amazing and special place (can't say something we relish so much can be called work).
We enjoy showing guests around and explaining about life on a dairy farm - calving, milking, chickens, ducks and sometimes pigs.
Luxury and good Cornish air
Luxury and camping are not two words that you would put together but here you have the best of both worlds plus an incredible view. Back to nature, a good nights sleep, a cooker that also provides warmth for your tent, enough space for six and the best bit, a toilet which is not a field or more away.
We also have a Gypsy Caravan which is great for couples, it is separate from the tents but you can still enjoy all that the farm has to offer.
Whether you choose the tents or our Gypsy Caravan, you will have a great holiday experience. We know that memories are what make a holiday and that is exactly what we want you to take away from here.
Beaches and delicious food.
Beaches are not the only thing we have to offer, there is plenty to do in the area and all just a short distance away. We are lucky enough to be based just between both Coasts, so sunshine and surf is not too far away. There are so many beaches and coves that it would be impossible to list them but it is safe to say that there is something for everyone.Check out these websites www.cornwall-beaches.co.uk & www.thecornishcoast.co.uk
If you want a change then there is always the incredible Minack Theatre, Eden Project, Geevor Tin Mine and an abundance of National Trust sites and many more places. Mousehole and St Ives are just a couple of areas that can take up a whole day.
We are close to Newlyn where you can buy fresh local fish including crab and lobster. We stock local meat in our shop (including our own beef) and you won't have far to go for a cream tea (jam then cream) or a pasty. There is a fantastic choice of cafes and restaurants if you fancy a night off from cooking.
Beautiful scenery and incredible coastline.
If walking is more your thing then you won't get anywhere better then here. We are lucky enough to be situated between two coasts. We have the north coast with its dramatic views and rugged rocks or the south coast with its warmer breezes and pretty flowers. There are the moors too with there mysterious atmospheres and ancient stones. In fact Lanyon Quoit and Men An Tol are within walking distance and on Boswarthen we have the Wishing Well and Celtic Chapel.
Sunrise and sunset
There are not many places in the world where you can watch both in the same day. From your tents (providing you are up early enough) you can experience
sunrise and just a very short drive (approx. five minutes) you can enjoy a very dramatic sun setting on the horizon. Heaven!
