Great Orme Ancient Mines
Dating back 4,000 years to the Bronze Age they change our views about the ancient people of Britain and their civilized and structured society 2,000 years before the Roman invasion.Over the past 25 years mining engineers, cavers and archaeologists have been slowly uncovering more tunnelsand large areas of the surface landscape to reveal what is now thought to be the largest Prehistoric mine,so far discovered in the World. A visit to Great Orme Mines is both an enjoyable and educational experience which can be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages. Walking through tunnels mined out over 3,500 years ago gives visitors a feel for the harsh conditions our prehistoric ancestors faced in their search for copper. The highlight of the tour is the amazing Bronze Age Cavern, dug out over 3,500 years ago by miners using nothing more than stone and bone tools. One of the original excavation team is always on hand to answer your questions.

Top 100 Attractions Review
You may have seen these ancient mines on such BBC TV series as Countryfile, Coast, but they don't only have to be viewed on television. Allow yourself to take a journey back in time to see how mining life really began all those thousands of years ago, here in one of Wales's harshest working careers. Every detail and care has been taken to allow you to see how our great ancestors would of made their fortune and wealth, or to those less fortunate, just allowed them to put food on their families tables. All of this education and knowledge can be found here at the Great Orme Ancient Mines, and I would highly recommend a visit to this very popular attraction whilst visiting llandudno, the Queen of all welsh seaside resorts.
