New Quay Honey Farm
Attraction in Ceredigion
There are lots of reasons to visit New Quay Honey Farm - a fantastic location in its own valley near New Quay, an Exhibition that shows you the life of the honeybee, with live exhibits behind glass; a shop selling honey from the Farm's 600 odd hives, mead made in its own meadery, and a tea room which serves locally sourced food of the highest quality; as well as the wildlife walk and picnic area. The honey Farm was started in 1995 to bring the beautiful honey of the area to a wider public and to share with visitors our fascination with the incredible life of the honeybee, the world's most studied insect. THE EXHIBITION spreads over the whole of the top floor of the converted chapel and shows the life of the honeybee and its importance in a combination of video displays, interpretation boards, and five live exhibits of actual full sized colonies of honeybees. THE SHOP sells a wide range of honey and honey products as well as books about bees, wildlife and nature, candles and other beeswax products. THE MEADERY also has a small exhibition and you can sample the meads in the shop. THE TEA ROOM serves many items made with our own honey, alongside the best the area has to offer, together with a great cup of tea or coffee.
