Soak Seaweed Baths
SOAK is a place where you can come to relax in a unique and special way. Listen to your favourite tunes as you melt all your troubles away in your own personal steam cabinet before luxuriating in the amber goodness of the mineral-rich seaweed and hot seawater that make up a seaweed bath. Let the seaweed detoxify your body and enrich your skin with vitamins A—K, giving you a natural glow, then close your pores with an invigorating freshwater jet spa shower.
A modern take on an old tradition, seaweed bathing has enriched the lives of the people on this island for more than a century. In Victorian times hot seawater baths were all the rage. Farmers along the coast who used seaweed for fertiliser found handling the weed brought relief from hacks and other sores. At some point someone put two and two together and got MAGIC.
The SOAK Group extended its premises in 2008 adding the luxurious Soothe spa treatments rooms. The spa treatment rooms were purpose built with relaxation in mind. Each spa treatment room is equipped with warm oak wooden flooring, a music system, specialist therapy lighting and a large comfortable treatment couch.
Soothe spa therapists offer a wide range of health, beauty and holistic spa treatments. You can find a spa treatment to help most ailments with the extensive selection of spa treatments on offer. If you just want to pamper yourself the choice is also great. Many of the spa treatments on offer at Soothe make a great compliment to a seaweed bath. So why not extend your stay at SOAK and check out the great variety of spa treatments on offer. We are currently updating our treatment list to reflect the launch of our very own natural seaweed product range. Please ring us for the most up to date treatments. Throughout the SOAK group we believe in the power of nature to heal, balance and restore the body's natural balance. The undiluted use of nutrient and mineral rich seaweeds through our bathhouse is extended to "Soothe" spa with the use of seaweed based products.
