The Rising Sun
Eating Out in Witshire,
The Rising Sun was built in the 18th Century and has at various times been a smithy and a Great Western Railways Ticket Office. It is now a freehouse serving quality beer, lager and cider as well as a great choice of wines. Since May 2013 the Riser has re-opened with a new team. Front of house is licensee Giles Wareham backed up by Heidi Murphy who runs the bar. The young team of Chefs led by Richard Tuplin produces quality food ranging from great value fixed-price lunches and classic Sunday roasts to fine dining experience on our la carte menu. Local produce is a key feature of our food. The Rising Sun is a real country pub serving excellent food and offers a warm welcome to families, their children and dogs. Just 4.5 miles from Junction 17 on the M4.
