The gardens here at Yewbarrow House took me completely by surprise and when it comes to hidden gems, Yewbarrow well and truly deserve their Top 100 Attractions 'Garden & Parklands' gem. Their owner, Jonathan Bemby, a well respected hotelier in the area, along with his gardener, is responsible for the gardens design and the views over the estuary are truly wonderful. I don't think that Jonathan ever imagined that his garden would draw such popularity as he very humbly guided me around the garden. From simple, easy care plants to some rare species, as you make your way up to the gardens highest view point, the views are just breath taking, even better on a sunny day! 119 All in all, the gardens here do not disappoint and as this is a private home, it is always best to call ahead before turning up to this garden, to avoid disappointment.
