Anglesey

Anglesey is one of those places that remain as magical and mysterious since it was invaded and made part of the Roman Empire 1,934 years ago. Ever since visiting here with the school many years ago, I have always had a soft spot for this geologically complex island. The island has several small towns dotted around it, Llangefni, Menai Bridge, Holyhead just to name but a few. But each one of the towns that you will come across on Anglesey has something very unique to offer the thousands of visitors the island gets on a yearly basis. When you ask some people what springs to mind when they hear the name Anglesey, they would immediately associate it with getting the ferry from Holyhead to Ireland. But when you ask many others, they too have many fond childhood memories of the place. Whilst writing and compiling this book I have got to meet so many interesting people, people from all walks of life, and a whole host of varied backgrounds. Whether it’s a day on the beach you’re after, or a trip to many of its great locations, Anglesey has it all! Anglesey also has a Coastal Path that spans some 200-kilometres (124) miles and boasts some absolutely spectacular views, no matter what kind of weather is thrown at you.
