South Wales Valleys
When one hears the words ‘South Wales Valleys’ the first words that always spring to everyone’s minds are Rugby and Coal Mining, but the valleys are about so much more than that. It is true to say that Rugby and Mining does play a part in so many people’s lives within the valleys, but if you were to take a good look at the area, you’d see that the place has so much more going for it. Rolling hills, quaint Welsh villages and some great tourist attractions really do make this part of Wales a great place to visit.
I was taken aback at how friendly people really are around the valleys. Not that I’ve heard any different, but you could be forgiven for thinking, that because most people who live in the valleys are of strong character working class people, that they could be guilty of being gruff and bad tempered. But, after visiting the area, speaking with the people who live there, it really couldn’t be further from the truth.
I found the people here to be absolutely fantastic and with there being so much to see and do here, it wouldn’t be hard at all to plan your week’s holiday around all the attractions open for you to visit. With some great places to experience, places to eat that offer good honest and wholesome food, not forgetting some lovely accommodation to stay in, a visit to the South Wales Valleys is a must. I am already planning my next visit to the area, as not only did I visit some fantastic places that could be visited time and time again, but I also made some great friends along the way! So what are you waiting for, I think you’ve got some planning to do!
