There are castles dotted all around the British Isles, some great, some once were great, and Beeston Castle is one that comes under both of the aforementioned categories. Let me explain what I mean. Beeston was once a Royal castle and a very strategic stronghold for Henry the Third. Although never lived in, it was positioned in just the right place to be able to fend off the attacking Welsh and keep them at bay. Now let me take you to the present day and explain also, why today it still remains so great. Once visited here, Beeston Castle cannot help but have a long lasting effect on you, and that's why we had to give it a top 100 status. The views all over Cheshire, are simply spell binding. Even despite now being essentially a ruin, it still hasn't lost any of its grand charm.
