Displaying outstandingly exquisite treasures of Georgian and Victorian Waterford, the Bishop’s Palace is situated on The Mall, right in the heart of the city. Waterford Crystal was started in 1783 by brothers George and William Penrose, along with the renowned glassmaker John Hill, and Bishop’s Palace is home to a fine collection of local treasures, paintings, as well as the oldest surviving piece of Waterford Crystal in the world- the Penrose decanter. Visitors can experience re-enactor-led tours through both precious masterpieces, and the infamy of 18th century Waterford, at this superlative, architectural showpiece.
