Review
Dating back to 1496, Broughty Castle is extraordinary in many ways. The Orchar Gallery boasts 30 paintings from the Orchar family. Not only is it an exquisite exhibition, but it is renowned as such throughout the world. Ideally located near Dundee, it has some fabulous views over Broughty, and looks as stunning from the inside as it does from the outside. This 15th Century Fort is filled with rich history and the museum reveals all on Broughty Ferry, the local environment, its people, and the wildlife. Run by Leisure and Culture Dundee, the museum occupies the top floors of the tower house, and is both educational and fun. The staff are also very helpful and ever so friendly. Going the extra mile, they really do know everything about the castle and its surroundings. Expect a spectacular visit with the best of Scottish hospitality.
