Cambrian Safaris offer tours of the Cambrian Mountains; (all day from your accommodation, or half day from Devils Bridge or Rhayader). We also offer tours of all of Wales for 2 or more days.

Explore the Cambrian Mountains byroads, through the remotest parts of Wales, following drover’s roads, old coach roads and high rough tracks. Discover the hidden secrets of the Elan Valley reservoirs. We aim to show you places you will want to go back to again and again.

Discover the ‘Picturesque Hinterland’ of the Cambrian uplands, including locations used in the BBC series 'Hinterland'. Farming, forestry, moorland, small lakes, historic estates, hidden valleys, and numerous old mines. We sometimes drive on rough tracks where permission has been obtained, if you would like a predominantly “off road” trip, please ask.

Little is known nationwide, let alone worldwide about the Cambrian mountains, as they can sometimes get overshadowed by their big brother the Snowdonia mountain range. Thanks to a selective amount of people this is now being corrected. Two of those selective few are both Richard & Hester Smith, together they have both established ‘Cambrian Safaris' . When I first heard about this great idea I had to investigate further. After spending some time with Richard, it was clear to me that not only would it be great to feature them in this new edition of the Top 100 Attractions in Wales book, but it would be a huge honour. I have not met anyone that is as passionate and enthusiastic as what Richard is about this special part of Mid Wales. I can assure you, that the only way to see this area of Wales is by taking a Cambrian Safari.
