Chesterboat
A visit to Chester would not be complete without a cruise along the beautiful and historic RiverChoose from a relaxing ½ hour cruise cruise journeying up River beneath the suspension Bridge, Grosvenor Park and the Earls Eye following the long sweep of the “Meadows”. Delightful views of beautiful Riverside Properties can be seen. Enjoy an informative commentary as you cruise along whilst enjoying a drink from the bar. This cruise operates throughout the year. Please telephone for details.
Alternatively enjoy a leisurely 2 hour cruise through ‘Eaton Estate' the home of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster. This cruise is quite superb, an extension of our city cruise, beyond the city limits up River past Heron Bridge and Eccleston Ferry, meandering around the ‘Crook of the Dee' and through ‘Eaton Estate' with its most beautiful and peaceful scenery. Drinks and commentary can also be enjoyed on this cruise. This cruise operates daily July and August, weekends in June.
Review
For many of us Chester is famous for its medieval buildings, its photogenic clock and its famous racecourse, maybe even its Roman remains. However once you have taken a trip aboard one of the Chester Boats that sail daily up and down the River Dee, you will see a side of Chester you never knew existed. As you sit on board and start your cruise, the commentary begins, and I found this fascinating as although my office is based in Chester, I learned many things that I never knew about Chester. Because of time constraints I took the shorter of the two trips and as we landed back at the boarding area, I really did wish I had taken the longer cruise. Chesterboats have also joined forces with the Chester Tour bus to provide you with a discount, which is a fantastic deal.
