Crumlin Road Gaol (Jail)
The main entrance to the Gaol is via the Gate House on the Crumlin Road. Coaches and cars may enter the site via the Summer Street entrance and follow the appropriate traffic management signs.
Admission tickets can be purchased on the day but we advise pre-booking to avoid disappointment. We recommend that you arrive at least 10 to 15 minutes prior to the tour time, to enable tickets to be checked or to be purchased.
The Gaol Tour comprises of a qualified guide exploring the prison with your allocated group. The Tour will cover all aspects of the Gaol from the Tunnel linking the courthouse on the other side of the Crumlin Road to the Hanging Cell, the Historic Holding Cells, Governors Office, Centre Circle, C-Wing, Hospital and Graveyard.

This attraction is not only a new attraction, but a much anticipated addition to Belfast's growing attraction portfolio. Together with its great prison tour and very experienced tour guides, Crumlin road jail is great value for money. To be able to see the cells of criminals past and present together with the hanging cell of those condemned to death, is both haunting and hugely fascinating to say the least. I have to also mention that there are ghost hunts and investigations that take place here at the jail on a monthly basis. Being limited to only thirty people at a time, spaces are hard to come by, but certainly worth a try for all those who believe that there are spirits from the other side trying to make contact. I found the staff here to be not only knowledgable but interesting with it, a big thumbs up from all of us here at Top 100 Attractions.
