Dowd's Restaurant
Dowds is an independent English restaurant set in the heart of Glossop, which has been building on its popular reputation for fine food, imaginative menus and an intimate setting since opening in 2005.
Start your afternoon off with a smoked mackerel fishcake on a mixed salad followed by an interesting dessert - try white chocolate mousse with rhubarb ice cream. In the evening you can expect a cosy atmosphere by candlelight, with occasional live music from the grand piano. Choose from the table d'hote menu with two courses, or from the à la carte menu, which offers delectable starters and mains at excellent prices. Afternoon tea and catering for private parties are available in our private upstairs dining area. Chef and proprietor Ian Dowd creates new menus every month, and all dishes are freshly made in-house, whilst his partner Elizabeth Dowd ensures you are given a warm welcome .
