Set in beautiful, tranquil countryside 3 miles from the Historic City of Londonderry / Derry and only 10 minutes from Donegal with marvelous scenery. Relax in a comfortable, well equipped 3 bedroom cottage on a working dairy farm of 150 acres situated on the Londonderry to Donemana Road. The beautiful location is in the middle of the Glendermott Valley and has panoramic views of the Derry Veagh Mountains in Donegal.
Located 20 minutes from City of Derry Airport you can explore the city and its fabulous surroundings including The Walls, Guildhall Square, Museums, Foyle Cruises, Theatres and also the number of Restaurants and bars to experience.
Drumcorn Farm Cottage has a large spacious lounge with an open fire (fuel for the fire will be provided). All rooms within Drumcorn Farm Cottage are heated by the oil fire central heating. The cottage has a fully fitted kitchen/dinette including cooker, fridge freezer, dish washer and microwave. The cottage also has a utility room which is complete with washing machine and tumble dryer. Other rooms within the cottage are 1 en-suite, 1 double room, 1 twin room. Main bathroom has a walk in shower, all towels and bed linen will be provided. Heating & electricity is included in the price. Outside of the cottage there is a BBQ area and also a large garden with garden furniture.
Drumcorn Farm has been a working Dairy Farm since the late 1800's where the milk was taken by horse & cart into Londonderry / Derry and sold from door to door.
In the present day, the farm consists of 150 acres and 160 milking cows. Dairy farming is a job that requires commitment, it's an all day, every day job. Dairy cows have to be milked twice a day, 5:00am in the morning, and 3:30pm in the afternoon, 365 days year.
As well as commitment, skill and knowledge are required to be a successful dairy farm. Knowing when the grass is ready to be cut for silage, planning, investment to improve efficiency and animal welfare and working with nature each season.
