Activities for kids include everything from the adventure playground to ranger-led wildlife walks and a host of events. Drumlanrig Castle isn’t just any Scottish Castle, it is one of the best Scottish castles and no trip to Scotland is complete without a visit to Drumlanrig. Being the Dumfriesshire seat of the Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry, one visit and you’ll understand why this estate is so precious to the entire family. Stunning gardens, palatial interiors, absolutely stunning parklands, once visited, you’ll be able to see for yourself, just exactly why Drumlanrig is one of our biggest and brightest hidden gems. Please remember however, that Drumlanrig is a family home and this is one of the many reasons why the castle is only open to the public between the 1st April and 30th September and during these times, there are guided tours around the house 5 or 6 times a day, so make sure to check their really informative website for all up to date times etc.
