Top 100 Attractions Review
I was booked in to eat at Harrys Bistro having heard so many great things, not only about the food and how great it was, but also the fantastic customer service skills of the Owner, Manager, Nia Roberts and her very able staff. For those very reasons this particular dinner reservation couldn't come quick enough for me. Upon arriving I was greeted eloquently, served with a drink at haste and shown very promptly to my table alongside my dinner dates. Even though it was only 7.30pm, the restaurant was very busy and the atmosphere around the place was great. Ample time was given for me to choose my food, and despite the amount of people dining that very busy Friday night, I did not have to wait that long for my starter of Grilled local black pudding, roasted apple & bacon lardon salad, & cider dressing. I wasted no time, and enjoyed every mouthful of my ample sized starter.
My main course arrived as promptly as the first, Pan fried hake fillet, herb new potatoes, sautéed spinach, and lemon beurre blanc. This was the first time I had tasted hake and I was not to be disappointed. The new potatoes were cooked to perfection and the spinach and lemon beurre blanc were a very cleverly matched addition.
I have to be totally honest in saying, that already with two courses I had feasted upon, I was in doubt whether or not to attempt a sweet, but there was a special on offer that evening that I just could not refuse, Vanilla panacotta with marinated Strawberry's and almond biscotti. I am not a fan of Biscotti it has to be said, but together with the panacotta and strawberries, was very enjoyable.
Now is the perfect opportunity to compliment the owner, chef, Simon Doyle and partner Nia Roberts for helping me to prove, just why we had to have Harry's Bar & Bistro at Henllys Hall, Beaumaris, into our publication and on the Top 100 Attractions website. Because of its idyllic location, this great restaurant does get very busy. So when arranging your visit to Harry's I would sincerely suggest booking in advance to save any disappointment in not being able to get a table, however having said all that, I can imagine Nia and the team would pull all the stops out to get you seated, but it's better to be safe and book ahead.
