Jimmy and Jane Barrett welcome you to Kailzie Fishery. We have been running Kailzie Fishery since 2007 and have expanded many of the facilities. One of the new provisions is a proper kitchen in the newly extended bothy. There are other exciting additions to the ponds so please look around the site , or better still come on down and have a chat to Jimmy who will be delighted to tell you about the future of Kailzie Fishery. Situated next to the River Tweed, nestled in the beautiful Border hills Kailzie Fishery provides the perfect environment for the angler. The fishery is 2 acres. The average depth is 12 feet and is burn fed. The fishery is stocked daily to maintain a good head of trout at all times. The fish consist of top quality Triploid and Blue Rainbows starting at 2 lbs and going up to double figures. The current overall record at the fishery is a 22lbs Rainbow Trout landed in 1998 by Edward Williamson. But the record since Jimmy took over the fishery stands at 17.5 lbs by Joe Dodds in September 2013. Kailzie Fishery caters for all types of anglers from beginners to experts.

Having chosen this attraction based on their visitor experience and value for money, you can bet your bottom dollar, the inclusion of the Kailzee Fishery and Putting Green was a decision that didn’t need much thinking through. A Top 100 Attraction in my mind, is one that is on your mind long after you’ve been there and I have very fond memories, not only about my visit to this wonderful place, but of the owners themselves. Jimmy and Jane took over from the previous owner of the site and really have put their own special touch to the place. Jimmy has painstakingly developed the site and has enhanced even further the putting green and fly fishing facilities. I think it is also worth mentioning the small cafe and tackle shop, with excellent value for money, I highly recommend popping in there and having lunch, or checking their well stocked shop.
