Middleport Pottery
Review
Take a step back in time to visit this listed, multiple award-winning pottery which dates back to 1888. Middleport Pottery is the home of the world-famous Burleigh, and has been described as a “model pottery” of the Staffordshire pottery industry at the time of its construction. Its clever design made production processes more efficient, with the finished pottery placed onto barges on the Trent and Mersey Canal or via road by horse and cart. Needless to say the buildings are spectacular and now offer not only a visiting tour experience, but also several incredible rooms available to hire for private functions, as well as unique photographic/film shoot opportunities. There is a superb tearoom on this site for visitors to enjoy, which also caters for functions. There is a wealth of interest and history housed in these buildings, as well as ongoing events.
