Milntown, in Lezayre, is the Island’s most historic estate and boasts 15 acres of beautiful gardens and woodland which surround the magnificent mansion and cafe at its heart.
First time visitors to Milntown will find it has something for all ages - children can run free and explore the many wonders hidden in it’s gardens, feed the ducks on the mill pond and take part in seasonal treasure hunts. Plant enthusiasts can watch the gardens transform throughout the seasons and chat with our dedicated and experienced gardeners who are always willing to share their expertise.
The onsite cafe offers breakfasts, lunches and tempting afternoon teas and treats all year round. With a selection of light bites, tasty mains and a children’s menu, the cafe caters for all. Check the specials boards for alternative options, and seasonal items using the delicious produce from our kitchen gardens.
With a full event calendar for the year there are a wide range of activities catering for all the family, including dining experiences; craft workshops; Hop-tu-naa and Christmas events as well as larger outdoor experiences and festivals. Having visited a huge amount of stately homes and their respective gardens over the years that I have been writing my Top 100 Attractions books, I've been impressed by them all and secretly, if this was a book about what I liked to do, this book would be absolutely full of them, but it's not about me, it's about you and here at Milntown Estate and Gardens, you will most certainly not be disappointed! This wonderful house has so many stories to tell and as you walk around the house itself, you get the strange feeling as though the family have merely just left the room, as it still has that warm lived in feel, just adding to experience. Also, take the gardens themselves, they are simply stunning, all 15 acres of them and with a variety of walks around them, you can't help but get immersed within their sheer beauty.
