Pecorama

Attractions

Pecorama at Beer, one of East Devon’s leading visitor attractions, is the home to the famous PECO Model Railway Exhibition and the Beer Heights Light Railway.

The Exhibition hall displays wonderfully detailed railway layouts, in many different gauges.
Outdoors, a fleet of miniature steam locomotives pull passenger trains on a mile-long route through the grounds, over bridges, through steep-sided cuttings and a long, dark tunnel!

Pecorama also features the Millennium Celebration Garden, a series of five celestially themed garden ‘rooms’ The individual garden names of Sun, Moon, Rainbow, Roof and Moat Garden reflect the nature and colour of the flowers, shrubs and trees found in each.

Children can choose from a variety of Activity Play Areas whilst an extensive programme of entertainment runs each summer, with shows from mid July until early September. Whatever the weather, clowns , jesters and magicians provide entertainment under cover of the PECO Marquee.

Also open is the Pecorama 'Play Station', the fantastic mult-tiered indoor play area for children up to 12 years of age.

The 'Play Station' is the perfect place for a Birthday Party

Review

After visiting hundreds of attractions throughout the British Isles, I can say with complete honesty that I have never visited anywhere like Pecorama. Totally unique in its nature, this attraction has evolved from being an idea born from a hobby enthusiast, to being one of Devons most popular attractions. I visited on a day that was filled with both sun, wind and rain but that didn't stop me from enjoying every minute of my time at Pecorama and what took me completely by surprise, was how inexpensive it was. One of the highlights of my visit, was having a traditional Devonshire cream tea on board their original Orion Pullman car, which it has to be said has been restored to a very high standard, possibly even better than it would of been when it was in action on the London to Channel coast line. No visit to Devon is complete without a visit to Pecorama!
