They have sung songs about it; they have written plays about it, they have even made films on it! That's why we have voted the Mersey Ferries as one of the Top 100 Attractions in Northwest England. Taking a trip across the River Mersey is quite breath-taking when you imagine all the history that has happened on these murky waters. I was quite lucky with the weather on the day I travelled but I wouldn't have cared if it had been raining, as the atmosphere on the boat is all that's needed to make this iconic trip a memorable one.
