This 18th century country coaching inn is a fine example of exactly what a country inn should be and the owners have spent a lot of time, money and pure passion to bring this iconic local building back to life again. Jill and Philip Hall are your hosts here and we must mention that even though this is their foray into the hospitality trade, we would never have guessed it. The rooms are modern, clean and warm. With this being a family-run business, they pride themselves on making sure that your stay is a comfortable one. We could tell this by only spending a short period of time with them both. Along with a great breakfast to set you up for the day, they have great locally sourced coffee also! Hint: You HAVE to check the loo’s out as well!

Not only do the owners of the Black Swan pride themselves on their 9 comfortable and well-fitted rooms, but they are also incredibly passionate about food, and good food at that! Using only the best local ingredients and cooking fresh to order, their experienced kitchen team really takes pride in every dish they put out. Whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner in the evening, you will find yourself well satisfied. Also, while you are there, why don’t you ask to see their cockpit bar; we guarantee that you will not have seen anything like it in your life! We are very confident that this pub is going to be winning a lot of awards in the future. They have passion, show keen attention to detail, and serve only the best beers from local brewers in the area. All of this makes them one of the best pubs in the area.
