The Fulling Mill Bar & Bistro in Ambleside lies at the centre of this most beautiful corner of England and at its culinary art. Our Bar & Bistro occupies a cleverly restored Grade 11 building dating from the 15th Century that operated as a fulling mill. The working weir, millrace, wheel and various pieces of machinery are carefully retained and can still be admired. After a recent refurbishment we have transformed the 4 floored building into a Bar & Bistro allocating 2 beautifully furbished floors for drinks and nibbles and 2 floors for dinning. As for food, we use the freshest local produce from Lakeland fells and farms, and fuse classic British dishes with European menus. Freshness, quality and simplicity are our signature qualities. Atmosphere may not be edible but it does play a huge part at The Fulling Mill. Our friendly team serve in a refreshingly casual but attentive way to produce a relaxed, enjoyable ambience.
