The Haven Hotel
Review
I did a lot of research on the Haven Hotel before visiting and I really thought I knew what I was coming to, yet this hotel still managed to take me by surprise. Made famous from 1964 onwards by Jean and the late great John Kelly, it’s now a new generation carrying the baton. Son, Paul Kelly and his wife Karen are now the ones charged with bringing the hotel kicking and screaming into the 21st century. As I walked around the hotel, you could feel the homely atmosphere and the Kelly family and all of their staff are ever so friendly. The views from not only the Hotel, but the rooms also are truly stunning and I have to say, this hotel is one of the best in the area. The rooms themselves are a good standard and offer amazing value for money, what more can you ask for!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Having already been featured in the accommodation section for Waterford, I couldn’t not talk about the food also. The Kelly family past and present take the provenance of where their food comes from and this is apparent within the restaurant's past reviews. Because I cannot eat everywhere I visit, I have to rely heavily on the reviews that people like yourselves have written and I am guided by the very words you write. There are three food offerings a day here at the Haven Hotel and if it’s just an afternoon tea you're looking for, don’t worry, nothing is too much trouble for the team here. I think it is also worth mentioning, that by the time I write my new review for the Haven Hotel in 4 years time, they will have a new extended restaurant added onto the hotel, which having seen the plans, is very exciting indeed.
