Review

Sporting its own beach, The Lodge on Loch Lomond has a unique front row view of the Loch itself. Only a short 30 minute drive from Glasgow, the hotel offers not only an escape from your busy life back home, but from reality as well. The rooms in the hotel, all 48 of them, are truly outstanding and most even have their own sauna; something that we have not come across through all the years of publishing Top 100 Attractions. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and the facilities that this hotel offers are just as spectacular as the bedrooms themselves. The hotel has a warm, inviting feel and this is echoed by its many sterling reviews. It is clear that this hotel has had a positive impact on every guest that crosses its threshold.

Food for thought

Colquhoun’s is the main restaurant here at the Lodge and boasts a highly experienced team of kitchen staff, ensuring that you are in for a real culinary treat. Whether you are enjoying breakfast, lunch or dinner - eating out should be as much about the experience as it is about the food, and this hotel seems to have both of those attributes in spades. The views of the Loch from the restaurant add to the already impressive ambience and are absolutely breath-taking, no matter what time of day. We found the menu to be very reasonably priced with a clever, carefully thought out selection of food on offer. All in all we know you are going to love it here; just remember to tell them who sent you!
