The Sun Inn
Review
Dalkeith is a lovely superb, just a short drive out of Edinburgh itself. The Sun Inn, initially chosen for this accommodation section of the Chapter, is that nice, we just had to feature them for their food also. With six rooms, each perfectly decorated with a different theme and each having a beautiful bathroom, no expense has been spared to give you the best night's sleep possible. The Sun Inn believe it or not, has 2 signature suites, with just that extra bit opulence and for those planning a special weekend or night away, those are the rooms to book. The staff are really friendly, prices very reasonable and all in all, we can't recommend this lovely pub enough! The family who own this award winning pub, also have another pub with rooms in the pretty town of Dunbar called the Rock, why not check that one out also.
Having featured this pub within the accommodation section also and with their award winning attention to detail, we couldn't not feature their restaurant as one of our handful of great places to eat within the Edinburgh City & Region Chapter of this book. With a wide selection of menus, all put together by their great team of chefs, The Sun Inn’s owners really have put together a great culinary team. The locally sourced produce, together with fresh ingredients means that you will always get the best provenance on offer at that time. The pub has even won established awards for their food, that's how good they are. Gill the manager and her experienced team, are a friendly and courteous bunch and nothing is too much trouble for them, but don't just take my word for it, read their reviews and see just exactly why the Sun Inn is so popular.
