The Warders Room

Eating Out

As well as the Jail Museum attraction, we also have superb restaurant and bar facilities, accompanied by our very comfortable Witness Box wine bar, where morning or afternoon tea and coffee can be served. Join other weary travelers in the Warders Room where we serve a great range of home cooked food freshly prepared from local produce by our dedicated brigade of chefs. A large range of ‘lite bites' made fresh to order are also on offer to tempt you.

For those who have a sweet tooth or enjoy a relaxed afternoon, we serve the best Cream Tea, which includes two homemade plain scones, individual clotted cream and a small pot of the best jam; or maybe try “Thunder & Lightening” Scones as before but with runny honey, all served with tea or freshly ground coffee.

The Young Offenders menu comes with fresh healthy alternatives if you wish I.E new potatoes instead of chips, or lettuce, tomato and cucumber instead of baked beans!

Our chalkboard specials change on a daily basis, reflecting the changing seasons in the sea and on the land, and allow our chefs to display their many talents.

Our desserts are homemade and come with a choice of clotted cream, fresh cream, ice cream or custard! Or try our Totally ‘Cornish Cheese Board'.Download our Booking Form here

There is something for all to enjoy in the Jail Kitchens!

Our Brigade of Chefs cook all our food here in the jail's kitchens; we even make all our own soups and sauces, and do not believe in serving ‘ready to use' products.

Our meats, vegetables, and fish are all sourced locally, and purchased according to the seasons.

All our food is homemade and cooked from fresh, this may result in a delay at busier periods.
We support small South Western companies and our food is locally sourced where possible.

Our Suppliers:

Butcher - Kittows of Fowey
Groceries - Celtic Produce of Bodmin
Fishmonger - S & J Fisheries of Plymouth
Dry Produce - MJ Baker of Newton Abbot

We pride ourselves on being able to cater for our guests with specific dietary requirements (diabetics, gluten free, vegetarians, vegans, and allergies), and only ask for some notice of your needs.
