Unsworths Yard’s own brewery is open to visitors every day of the week. We are an open-door brewery with the modern, stainless-steel, 5-barrel brewhouse separated from the tasting room bar and shop only by large windows. Even on busy brew-days we encourage visitors to view the beer making process, ask questions and taste the cask beer available from our bar. Our shop is fully stocked with our wide choice of bottled beers, available individually or in a range of gift bags and boxes, all brewed on the premises. Our beers are widely available in free-house pubs and high quality restaurants and artisan food shops within the Cartmel and South Lakes areas. Unsworths Yard is set within the historic village of Cartmel, just opposite the priory, it is really easy to find. The history on the modern story of this attraction starts with brothers Peter & David Unsworth. They have created a destination that is most definitely worthy of your visit. Whether your a cheese lover, wine connoisseur, or someone who appreciates a great pint of beer, you'll find all of that and more within Unsworths Yard. Once a haulage and garage business, started originally by the brothers grandfather, Cyril Unsworth, he and his family have been huge figures within the village of Cartmel and being very ahead of his own time, Cyril started his business by serving people with petrol, long before there were ever garages in the area, a true entrepreneur in every sense of the word. I really love the Village of Cartmel and with the addition of Unsworths Yard, it just got a lot better.
