Review
Whittakers Distillery, on Harewell House Farm near Harrogate in Yorkshire, is the only distillery in this area, which has recently been certified an area of outstanding natural beauty. This family-run farm offers visitors a cordial welcome and a tour of the distillery for a first-hand experience of the gin producing process. It is here that the multiple award-winning gins are crafted. The immaculately kept gin distillery is all gleaming copper and stainless steel, and is housed in what was once a pig shed and later converted by local Yorkshire tradespeople. After the tour, proceed to a tasting of the highly original craft gins which are highly recommended. Then visit the attractive and well-appointed farm shop, which boasts a wood-burning stove, or simply treat yourself to some refreshments in the café.
