Carmarthenshire

Carmarthenshire is to Wales as Kent is to England, the true garden of Wales. Before visiting this area of Wales, I truly thought that to be just a cliché that people come out with from time to time about places that had a lot of green landscapes in them, I couldn’t have been more wrong! With breathtakingly beautiful mountains, fresh, green landscapes and hidden forests that take you all the way down to those enviable golden sandy beaches, Carmarthenshire truly is Wales’s secret Oasis.
One can now see why they chose this idyllic location to play home to the National Botanic Garden of Wales. I spent a good few nights in the county and got to explore all of our great attractions in this county, which at first I was wondering why someone would chose this region to stay in as part of a Welsh holiday.

I think I now know why visitors chose to visit this area, Carmarthenshire is a busy, bustling Welsh county and truly is the epitome of Rural Welsh life. With the Millennium Coastal path nearby and the National Wetland Centre just a mile or so out of the town centre, there is just as much to do here as there is in any other Welsh county. So on the face of it, Carmarthenshire really does get a huge thumb up from us all here at Top 100 Attractions. I also cannot wait to work on our next welsh book as there was an awful lot that I didn’t get to see! The likes of Llanelly House, Pembrey Country Park, and of course the Millennium Coastal Path, all help to make your visit to Carmarthenshire a very memorable one. So no matter what you like to do, I’m sure you’ll find it here.
