Ceredigion / Cardigan Bay

It’s very hard to know which county you are in whilst venturing round Wales, as one is just as stunning as the other, until of course you come to Cardigan, or Ceredigion as the locals would now like it to be known! With it’s gigantic sweeping sea cliffs, rolling hills, quaint villages and its vibrant nightlife, Cardigan Bay and the wider county of Ceredigion, is very unique indeed. I spent a few very pleasant days here, met some wonderful people, tasted some outstanding food and it didn’t rain once either! Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not saying it never rains here in Cardigan, but what I am saying is that no matter what the weather, Cardigan has something to offer come rain or shine.

If your considering driving from North Wales to South Wales, one would be forgiven for being tempted into driving via England, down the M6 to Birmingham, M5, M42, M40 corridor and then take The M4 direct to South Wales! However, we all have to be strong and not give in to our temptations. Let me take you a more refreshing way! Depending where in North Wales you are leaving from, let’s say Llandudno ok! Here goes, A470, A487, A40! Thats it! 3 roads! Ok it may add about half an hour onto your journey? But boy it’s worth it! Rolling hills, sweeping cliffs and with a cute town or village dotted along the way, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to the, where do we stop for food question. There’s always been a strong rumour that Welsh people are rude and don’t like the English or visitors of any description really, but that couldn’t be further from the truth here in Wales, they love tourists and more the merrier in my experience!
