Mid Wales & Brecon

As one of the three Welsh National Parks, the Mid Wales/ Brecon section of the book and website needs no extra introduction. With not as many attractions featured here as some of the many other areas on this around Wales, the reason being quite simply, is the Brecon National Park is the biggest attraction itself. That being said, we’ve assembled an excellent cast that guarantees to be a big crowd pleaser. Whether you’re a keen walker, nature enthusiast, avid historian or just simply someone who visited the Mid Wales/ Brecon area as a child, there’ll not be enough hours in the week to take it all in! Maybe you should book two weeks instead? Because in my book, website and app, we have specifically focused on the tourist attractions of the thirteen main great areas of Wales, we just haven’t been able to focus on some of the great walking routes the Brecon Beacons and other areas play home to.

Whether you’re visiting Mid-Wales or the Brecon Beacons area, or in fact both during your trip, you won’t be stuck for things to do. Take Pen-y Fan for instance, this is South Wales’s highest mountain. This area of Mid Wales also takes in the surrounding Black Mountain to the west and the wider Black Mountains to the East. In addition to our obvious selection of amazing Mid Wales attractions, you are also blessed with the fact that there are in and around 20 hillforts for you to also visit, some quite accessible and some, just that harder to get to, but no matter what, this all just adds to the Mid-Wales/ Brecon Experience. All in all, if you go prepared and have a huge sense of adventure, you’ll absolutely love this region, just as I did!
